You are a farmer in Kattegat with a small boat, two friends, and a rumour of rich lands across the western sea. Die a king.

Every winter you are at home: hire warriors, build a bigger ship, hold a feast, arrange a marriage. Your village grows as your rank does. Every summer you sail a chart of twenty places from Iceland to Paris. Each leg eats supplies, so you must decide how far you dare go before turning back.

Out there you raid monasteries, market towns and kings' cities. Your crew fights on its own; you choose who stands where and when to call Rally or Shield Wall. Plant your banner on the places you beat and they pay tribute and restock your ship, which is how you reach the far, rich shores.

Then you split the silver. Keep too much and loyalty rots, and when one warrior hits zero every unhappy hand joins the mutiny. Meanwhile a rival sea-king, Hastein, is stripping the coast ahead of you.

Rise from Farmer to Raider, Jarl and Earl. Only an Earl may challenge the King.

THIS IS AN EARLY PROTOTYPE. The characters and map are placeholder art drawn in code, the sounds are generated, and the narrator uses your computer's built-in voice. I am sharing it to find out whether the game underneath is fun.

I would love to know:

1. Did you start a second saga?

2. Where were you bored, confused or annoyed?

3. Was it too easy or too hard?
